George Lucas bans Darth Vader actor David Prowse from 'Star Wars' events

Want to know how far George Lucas has gone to ruin his Star Wars franchise? Besides making that awful second trilogy, he has now banned Darth Vader from Star Wars events.

David Prowse, who played Vader in the original trilogy (James Earl Jones was the voice, of course) announced on his website that he is no longer welcome at any Lucasfilm event. That includes cast reunions, fan celebrations and even photo ops with the "501 Squadron." Instead of the Royal Air Force flying group, we think he means the 501st Legion, who like to dress up like stormtroopers and soldiers; that's a strange banishment, considering the 6-foot-6 Prowse is commander in chief of the group.

"The only thing I have been told is that I have 'burnt too many bridges between Lucas Film and myself' -- no other reason given," he announced on his personal site. "Sincere apologies to all my fans who were hoping to meet with me -- I shall miss you too." Gee, George, what did he do, actually tell you how awful Hayden Christensen was?
