Georgia man arrested for allegedly stalking Miley Cyrus
A 53-year-old Georgia man who swears he is secretly engaged to Miley Cyrus was arrested Tuesday for stalking the 16-year-old Disney star, the Savannah (Ga.) Morning News reports. Boy, Billy Ray's gonna be mad when he hears about that.
Mark McLeod, from a town called Appling, was arrested in his Columbia County home after venturing to Tybee Island on the coast, east of Savannah, and asking where the teen star was. Tybee officials had issued a stalking warrant for him because cops arrested him on June 22 after overhearing him making inappropriate comments to young girls watching filming of Miley's movie, The Last Song. TMZ says he made his own inappropriate comments to the police, telling them that he and Miley "were supposed to be together" and that she was sending him"secret messages" through her TV show.
The Morning News report says jail officials did not know about any comments concerning Cyrus, or that he was considered a stalking threat, but it was apparently enough for Disney to inform the LAPD about the guy. We'd think that anyone who sent Miley two, $2,000 diamond rings and other "special, private presents" does indeed qualify as a bit of a stalker. Maybe that's why they simply released him after one day in jail back in June because of overcrowding.
