Gun in Pippa Middleton incident was allegedly a toy
Every gossip outlet in the English-speaking world (including this one) recounted that Duchess Catherine's sister Pippa Middleton was facing a potential arrest is Paris over an incident in which the driver of a car she was in pointed a gun at a photographer. Well, those reports may have been a wee bit overblown -- apparently cops aren't investigating the incident, because they haven't received a complaint from the paparazzi.
The AP said Tuesday a French company owned by fashion designer Arthur de Soultrait, who was in the Audi convertible Saturday when the photo was taken, noted the gun was fake and the driver pointing it was "playing a game" with the paparazzi. You know, the kind of game where it looks like you're going to shoot someone for taking your photo.
So it looks like all that talk of this dude going to prison for at least two years for terroristic threats were overblown. And here we were hoping for a huge royal scandal to liven things up around here.
