Halle Berry custody fight sparked by 'New Year's Eve' -- and Gabriel Aubry didn't want Nahla called 'black'
We've already said that Halle Berry pulled out of a movie, and that it was because she was locked in a custody battle over 2-year-old daughter Nahla with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. But did you know her role in the movie was the actual catalyst for the legal fight? Read on, gossip fiends.
People reports that Berry's role in New Year's Eve, a romantic comedy shooting in New York, sparked a fight between she and Aubry when Gabriel refused to stay in New York with their daughter during filming. She had contractural compensation for him and everything, but when he wouldn't come to the Big Apple, she dropped out because she didn't want to leave Nahla in L.A. Wow, kids really do ruin your life.
Meanwhile, TMZ expounds on reports that Aubry has racist tendencies, saying he would become enraged whenever he read a story that called his daughter "black," insisting she was white. He even would tell Halle and their friends that retractions should be printed over it. Um, okay. We don't know about all that, but it's not flattering. Also not flattering: Katherine Heigl replaced Berry in New Year's Eve. Ugh.
