Harry Potter fans turned away from 'Wizarding World rides for being too big

Tbd_harrypotter062810 Beware, massive Muggles: According to Yahoo! Movies, Universal Studios' Wizarding World of Harry Potter is having to turn away fans because, well, they're too fat. Sounds like they have to whip up some weight loss spells, pronto.

"Universal seems to have anticipated this issue, stationing staff 'wizards' and test-seats along the line and at the entrance to Forbidden Journey," the site says, noting several people have been kicked out because the ride's restraints can't fit over them. "Riders test their ability to fit in the seats, as well as the restraint (which must click three times to be deemed safe and for the potential rider to be allowed into the attraction)." That really does make it a forbidden journey for some.

They note that Universal doesn't have specific weight limits, only that riders be at least 48 inches tall. The "body dimension" restrictions are "to ensure the safety of our guests," Universal says. If they want to ensure their overweight guests are safe, they should quit serving burgers and chicken fingers at all the concession stands.
