HBO would cancel Cathouse if Drew Peterson joined cast
HBO says that Drew Peterson, the ex-cop from Illinois who is a prime suspect in the deaths of two of his three wives, can only get a job on its show Cathouse over the network's programming executives' dead bodies. Nice to know they have standards.
HBO spokeswoman Tobe Becker said the network would sooner cancel the show, set in the Moonlite Bunny Ranch brothel south of Reno, than letting Peterson appear on it, the AP reports. She called it a "stunt" that HBO couldn't condone. Peterson's publicist Glenn Selig had previously confirmed his client had been offered a role on the show.
An tweet from Peterson's P.R. firm @PublicAgency said the "girls at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch are disgusted by, and do not want Drew Peterson near them."
Dennis Hoff, the owner of the "ranch," had previously tried to get former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, but even that publicity hound said no. But since Selig represents both Blago and Peterson, Drew was a natural substitute.
