HBO's Albrecht following Tony's dating advice

Tbdalbrecht051107 You can something is real news when the Wall Street Journal writes about it. Blaming alcoholism, HBO chief Chris Albrecht has resigned from his position after being arrested in Las Vegas early Sunday after allegedly assaulting a female companion outside the MGM Grand Garden Arena following the Floyd Mayweather-Oscar De La Hoya fight. He spent the night in jail and was released, but proceedings are pending.

What is scary about all this is that Albrecht, who has overseen the development of shows like Sex and the City and The Sopranos, has done this before. The L.A. Times says the network paid off a female subordinate in 1991 to the tune of “at least” $400,000 after Albrecht allegedly shoved and kicked her. Looks like his taste for gritty drama goes back a ways.
