Hilary Duff returns to TV in new comedy
Former Mouse House star Hilary Duff is headed back to TV to produce and act in a half-hour comedy in a one-year deal with 20th Century Fox TV, the Huffington Post reports. She must have gotten tired of indie movies.
On Monday, Duff went to Twitter to announce the news. @HilaryDuff tweeted: "Ok it's official! Very excited about my development deal with 20th century fox. t.v. here I come! :)" The deal is expected to produce her first major TV role since Disney's Lizze McGuire ended in 2004; playing Olivia Burke on Gossip Girl doesn't count, because playing a movie star trying to live a normal life wasn't really a stretch as a role.
Duff was the precursor to child stars Miley Cyrus and Lindsay Lohan, except she pretty much kept her nose clean (no pun intended, Lilo), so for the most part, we root for her. We just wish she'd pick a career. TV? Movies? Singing? What's it gonna be? Don't expect a choice anytime soon -- she's been recording her next album all year.
