Hollywood plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan killed in car crash
Plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan, a well-known Hollywood face-cutter, has died in a single-car accident in L.A. on Monday, People reports. You'd remember him most as the doctor who thought it was perfectly acceptable to go ahead with the 10-procedure, 10-hour marathon surgery on Nov. 20 to replace Heidi Montag with a pod person.
Ryan's Jeep drove off the Pacific Coast Highway onto the rocks below, killing the 50-year-old. He had been out enjoying nature, according to a post on his Twitter feed, @drfrankryan on Monday: "After 25 years of driving by, I finally hiked to the top of the giant sand dune on the pch west of malibu. Much harder than it looks! Whew!"
An hour later, he posted a photo of his dog (at left) with a message that read, "Border collie jill surveying the view from atop the sand dune." Jill was found injured in the ocean and was taken to a veterinary hospital.
"I am devastated to hear the news of Dr. Frank Ryan's death. He was the most amazing person I have ever known. He was an angel and changed my life and the lives of everyone he met," Montag tweeted from @heidimontag. "He was the most brilliant talented surgeon who will ever exist. Dr. Frank Ryan changed the world." Or at least a couple big parts of it.
