Hugh Jackman interrupted by phone call during play
The Juice* already knows that society is on the decline (just read our pages every day), but rudeness dropped to a new low when some jackass left a cellphone on in the middle of a Broadway play starring Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig. That's the kind of thing we've surrendered into expecting at the local cineplex, but not at a place where a couple tickets can cost more than an iPhone.
Jackman was in the middle of a monologue in A Steady Rain last Wednesday when the ringtone went off (watch the video from TMZ above). He stayed in character and kept his cool, earning a Tony right there: "You wanna get it? Grab it; I don't care, grab it," he said.
But it wasn't until after the phone went off a second time that Hugh paced like a caged animal and acted like he was going to drag the numbskull into the street for a savage beating. We don't know what's more amazing: that this idiot couldn't even turn the phone off after the first time, or that somebody was in the theater recording it.
