Hugh Jackman to star, produce Wolverine sequel

Tbd-hughjackman081709 Hugh Jackman may have said in the past he thought X-Men Origins: Wolverine would be his last movie as the superhero, but box-office receipts say otherwise. Expect a sequel in the next couple of years, the Hollywood Reporter says.

Jackman also will be acting as co-producer for the flick, which will come from Lauren Shuler Donner's company, Seed. Screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie, who penned cool stuff like The Usual Suspects and Valkyrie, is taking a stab at it.

Expect to delve a little deeper into Logan's varied past this time; THR says the follow-up to the $363 million blockbuster will explore the hero's time battling ninjas in Japan. It sounds odd, but that miniseries from Frank Miller and Chris Claremont was one of the better ones, so we've already put aside $14, which is what movie tickets will cost by then.
