It really sits around the house

Representatives of Marlon Brando’s estate are suing two furniture companies and a retailer over the sale of a home theater chair called “The Brando,” the AP says. The lawsuit claims misappropriation of the name of a deceased celebrity (Brando died in 2004, and they didn’t ask permission, apparently). The estate wants unspecified damages and a court order to stop the sale of the chair, which are being sold by Southern California-based City Leather Inc., Winnipeg, Manitoba-based Palliser Furniture Ltd. and North Carolina-based Palliser Furniture Corp. We guess “The Brando” is a trim, handsome, intense chair everyone admires, even as it slowly transforms into an overstuffed La-Z-Boy over time.
