Italian-American group wants to sue 'Jersey Shore'
UNICO, a national Italian-American service organization, is sick and tired of the kids from Jersey Shore. And since this is America and not The Godfather Part II, they are going to the mattresses by talking about suing MTV, RadarOnline reports. If only all those kids actually were Italian.
“We have consulted attorneys and are prepared to take legal action because we are so angry about the situation," said Andre Dimino, the president of the group (their name stands for Unity, Neighborliness, Integrity, Charity and Opportunity). “The use of words like ‘Guidos’ and ‘Guidettes’ is racial stereotyping in the worst possible sense and they are portraying young Italian Americans in the worst possible light. They would not try and get away with the same tactics if it was show full of young African American
or Jewish kids so why is it acceptable to portray Italian Americans in this way?"
But this being The Juice*, you know there's an ironic twist: Jenni "J-Woww" Farley and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi just told Fox's Strategy Room that they're not even Italian. J-Woww is Irish and Spanish and Snooki is Chilean. Great! That's three more ethnic groups that can be offended!
