Jackson Publick auctions 'Venture Bros.' art for oil spill relief

Allow The Juice* a mild indulgence as we spout about a favorite show, Cartoon Network's Venture Bros. on Adult Swim. But wait, it's for oil spill relief efforts!

Series creator Jackson Publick (nee Christopher McCulloch) announced Monday via his Publick Nuisance blog that he and his cronies are auctioning off original production drawings for his show to benefit pal Stephen Colbert and his Colbert Nation's Gulf of America Fund to help clean up BP's ever-growing mess.

Our overseas studio recently sent us some of the original layout and animation drawings from the production of the fourth season of The Venture Bros., and our kind-hearted animatic editor, Thomas Bayne, immediately got the bright idea to sell/auction some of them off to raise money for the Gulf Coast," Publick wrote. "He also managed to dig up some of the great Stephen DeStefano's storyboard and design originals from previous seasons, and a few pieces of original art from the in-house production of The Venture Bros. pilot...just to spice things up."

No, it's not real gossipy, but it allows us to geek out about an eBay auction (which you can view here) that's tied to a real celebrity. Plus, we get to point out the bodyguard Brock Samson was born in our hometown of Omaha, Neb., which makes us proud for some inexplicable reason.
