James Franco cross-dresses for Candy magazine cover
There's a new magazine in town called Candy, which markets itself to transvestites, transexuals and cross-dressers, so for its second issue it decided to spice things up by getting actor James Franco to pose for its cover -- in drag, no less. Is Jimmy trying to tell us something?
"Candy is the first fashion magazine ever completely dedicated to celebrating transvestism, transexuality, cross dressing and androgyny, in all its manifestations," the magazine says, according to Jezebel.com. That would mean Franco, who lately has had an art show featuring male genitalia, has done an interview in The Advocate and acted in and directed movies about gay men, would be a choice fit to do a shoot with photographer Terry Richardson. Shocking! Maybe James' next movie can be about transexuals, since (for the record) they aren't necessarily gay.
"Candy is a magazine for everybody," he says about the new periodical." A space for individual freedom, and a publication that pushes people to take on the persona of what they always wanted to be." Apparently Franco always wanted to slather on the lipstick and eye shadow, although we would suggest brighter jewelry.
