James Van Der Beek creates website for new vandermemes
James Van Der Beek is proving he can take a joke, reacting to the online infamy of his Dawson's Creek breakup with Katie Holmes by launching his own website to prove he has a whole range of emotions. That's right, more than a dozen GIFs of him acting out feelings! Just what the short-attention-span generation ordered!
"It's one of those things people always get me on Twitter," Van Der Beek told MTV about the clip of Dawson Leery getting dumped by Joey Potter. "Like, they'll tweet me something, and it's always a trick. And then (I'll click on the link) and it's the shot of me crying, and I laugh every time. I think it's hysterical. I mean, you do a show for six years, and it all gets reduced to a five-second clip of poor Dawson crying."
The 33-year-old made a couple of videos with FunnyOrDie.com (watch those above and below -- mind the salty language in the second one) and created jamesvandermemes.com in a tongue-in-cheek attempt to capitalize on his ironic popularity by acting out emotions such as "nostalgic," "happy," the "LiLo eye roll" and our favorite, the "10 year anniversary crying edition."
