Jean-Claude Van Damme picks dog over movie

Jean-Claude Van Damme's comeback film, JCVD, is no match for his latest interest: a pack of adopted dogs. The New York Post's Page Six says Van Damme is canceling promo gigs for the flick, a fictional biopic in which the Muscles From Brussels plays a version of himself, a washed up actor with financial issues and a nasty custody battle who somehow gets caught up in a bank robbery, to the adoring screams of thousands of fans. Wait, what part is fictional?

Anyway, the Belgian apparently adopted seven dogs from Thailand, but one of them is in a coma, a source told the Post. Van Damme is electing to stay in the country "to see this dog through this very trying time." How can he do that? This movie looks like his biggest potential hit since Bloodsport. Or did the "made up" storyline hit too close to home for him to watch? Either way, watch the trailer above.
