Jennifer Aniston can't help Courteney Cox's 'Cougar Town'
And now the moment none of you have been waiting for: Just how much did Courteney Cox's Cougar Town benefit from Wednesday night's visit from old friend Jennifer Aniston, who was guest starring as Cox's therapist? Um, not much, it seems.
While 12.6 million tuned in to support ABC's Modern Family, Us says 4.3 million of those people tuned out when Cougar Town came on, leaving the show floundering in third place for its time slot. That 8.3 million is down from last year's season premiere, which drew 11.4 million.
And so it seems Aniston can't draw at the box office or even on television, which, if it doesn't ring the death knell, it at least tingles the doom triangle, a lesser-known but still ominous harbinger of career limbo. Maybe Jen should try playing something other than the slightly affected, friend's hot sister-type who gets all flustered and panicky whenever she's nervous. Just a thought.
