Jennifer Lawrence says she's 'obese' in Hollywood terms
Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence is pretty much the poster child for being a trim 22-year-old, but in Tinseltown she's the fattest cow on Earth, she tells the latest issue of Elle. We were going to say, when is she going to end up in the hospital for being malnourished?
"In Hollywood, I'm obese. I’'m considered a fat actress," she says. "I'm Val Kilmer in that one picture on the beach." You know the one. Not that she doesn't revel in it. "I eat like a caveman. I'll be the only actress who doesn't have anorexia rumors. ... I'm never going to starve myself for a part."
Then she explains the reason why not in a way that warns The Juice*'s black heart, because Lawrence is an actress we'd even let fair Baby Juice* idolize: "I don't want little girls to be like, 'Oh, I want to look like Katniss, so I’m going to skip dinner.' That's something that I was really conscious of during training, when you're trying to get your body to look exactly right. I was trying to get my body to look fit and strong, not thin and underfed."
Ironically, that role is for a story about people who are starving, so we don't know how well it applies, but we applaud her attitude nonetheless.
