The cast of Jersey Shore took to the airwaves Tuesday to tell Ellen DeGeneres that hey, the public really treats them unfairly. It's as if we've been watching an asinine television show in which all we seem to see is them getting drunk, not working and playing Russian roulette with the gene pool.

"One time we were in a bar and a guy walked by and said, 'You are everything that's wrong with this country today,'" Vinny Guadagnino said on the show Tuesday. "I was taken back by that. There's the economy, poverty, equal rights -- and Jersey Shore is the worst thing that's wrong?" Well, in many ways, yes. Seriously, is this the image of American life we want to project? Not to other countries -- to ourselves. It's just plain awful.

And of course, we have to hear from Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, who recently gave up her hair poof to seem more mature: "I think no one knows how we really are. We have, like, different sides. Obviously you see us on the show we party, we do this, and we do that. But outside of the show, we're very quiet," she said. "I'll go to frickin' Barnes & Nobles, get a coffee and just sit down and read. No one would ever think that. We have different sides to us and people don't see that."

No, because we're too busy recoiling from the fake-baking and Ugg boots. For real, Snooks, it's summertime; try a pair of sandals for once, with your gnarly toes.
