'Jersey Shore' cast won't shoot, wants more money
Despite our hopes and dreams and rumors to the contrary, it sounds like MTV is planning on keeping Jersey Shore going. The big issue is that those money grubbing halfwits are all boycotting shooting for a third season because they think they deserve more money. We all woulda done it for the free beachfront condo, but what do we know?
TMZ says Jenni "J-Woww" Farley, Paul DelVecchio, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Sammi Giancola and Vinny Guadagnino were supposed to be filming Monday for the now-split second season, which moved from Miami to Seaside Heights to create a third go-round, but they told the crew they weren't shooting without new contracts. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi was supposed to shoot Tuesday, but was reportedly planning to strike, too. Gee, that's too bad. They're like the bizarro cast of Friends.
As for Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, his issue is a little dicier. MTV apparently offered him and his abs a deal that would bump his pay from $10,000 per episode to $27,500 to $45,000 each for a fourth season, depending on how high the ratings are, but he hasn't signed yet. Wait, not only would he get more money, we'd have to deal with yet another season of this mess? The Juice* wants to go on strike now, too.
