Jersey Shore's Snooki gets $533 fine for public drunkeness
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's drunken wanderings through Seaside Heights during taping of Jersey Shore on July 30 wasn't just embarrassing for her and the human race as a whole -- a judge has fined her $533 for causing a disturbance. MTV's gonna pay for that, right?
Municipal Court Judge Damian G. Murray called Snooki "a Lindsay Lohan wannabe" and ordered the fine, also sentencing her to perform two days of community service for stumbling around the beach and yelling, thereby disturbing other beachgoers. She did get credit for one day of service for caring for abused and neglected animals at a zoo Sunday, the AP reports. Murray told Polizzi she needed to decide "if it was worth trading your dignity for a paycheck," which is truly the question for our times.
Snooks apologized for her behavior and said it wasn't part of the show, despite the fact that MTV cameras were rolling. She then no doubt beat her feet out of the courthouse as quickly as possible, before Murray remembered she could have gotten as many as 90 days in jail.
