Jessica Sierra wants more 'Celebrity Rehab'
Ex-American Idol finalist Jessica Sierra wants to do another round of VH1 Celebrity Rehab, her lawyer says. But there is one problem. A Hillsborough judge ordered her to stay away from cameras and microphones during her year at a California rehab center.
On Thursday, Sierra’s attorney, John Fitzgibbons, will ask the judge who first sentenced her to probation for battery and cocaine possession charges to allow a bit of leeway, court papers show. In an interview, Fitzgibbons said VH1 is planning Celebrity Rehab, part two.
Sierra already appeared in the initial series, led by Dr. Drew Pinsky at the Pasadena Recovery Center. The next series, according to court papers, would include an intensive three-week program with Dr. Charles Sophy, a psychiatrist.
Sophy just appeared last week on the Today show to discuss the rising rate of alcohol abuse in women. Dr. Drew will be at Thursday’s hearing, Fitzgibbons said. Sierra will not attend.
“I think she’s getting a huge amount of counseling for free,” Fitzgibbons said of the new show. He added that it can’t hurt her career to stay in the limelight, either.
