Joaquin Phoenix jumps heckler at Miami show
Joaquin Phoenix added another chapter to his
real-life hip-hop conversion, attacking a fan at a performance at Miami's LIV nightclub early Thursday morning, the AP reports. No word on whether real punches were thrown, but Casey Affleck sure was recording the whole thing.
Hundreds of fans filled the club at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel after the doors opened at 10:30 p.m., the AP says, but Phoenix didn't show until almost 2 a.m., which is pretty late for a school night. He started, uh, rapping before responding to an apparent heckler in the crowd, who could have been a plant for all we know to spice up Casey's doc.
"We have a (double-bad word) in the audience," he said before jumping into the crowd. It wasn't clear from the video we watched (above) whether JoPho hit the guy, but then, so much is bleeped out we couldn't hear much of anything.
"I saw the guy screaming at Joaquin, and Joaquin just came down," said Jorge Lledo, 30, of Miami Beach.
Security guards dragged Joaquin back on stage before he walked away, presumably to go backstage and go over the footage with Casey.
