Joey Fatone auctioning off his $6.5 million Windermere home
The Orlando area's Windermere gated community is seeing a mass exodus of celebrities this year. First Tiger Woods' jilted wife Elin Nordegren got the infamous Thanksgiving Day house and may be planning to sell it, now a superstar like Joey Fatone is ditching his $6.5 million lakefront estate to move to smaller digs. The difference is, Joey's selling his through an auction.
"This family does not need to sell," listing Realtor Roger Soderstrom told the Orlando Sentinel. "They want to get it done so they can move on with their lives.'' Apparently the 12,000-square-foot property -- which features four acres, a pool, sushi bar, 3,800-square-foot master suite with a 700-square-foot closet, sauna, steam room and a 10-car garage with a rotating platform to showcase cars -- isn't even in foreclosure. No, the one-time 'N Sync-er and his family just want a family-friendly 'hood. Might we suggest Lake Eola?
Get your checkbooks out, though; bidding starts at $3.7 million on the big day, Sept. 11. Joey's been trying to sell it for $5.5 mil for the last six months (a cool million off the appraisal) to no avail, so maybe you can get a deal.
