John Travolta's dogs killed at Maine airport
In a turn of events sure to upset you more than the Gulf oil spill, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the collapse of the European Union into financial anarchy, John Travolta's two dogs were killed last week after they were run over by a truck at a Maine airport. You're already tearing up, aren't you? It's okay, they're in a better place now.
“At approximately 1 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010, an airplane carrying members of the John Travolta family landed at BIA," a statement released by Bangor International Airport director Rebecca Hupp read. "While there, two small dogs were taken for a walk by someone who is not a family member. An airport service pickup truck was approaching the airplane to service the airplane and did not see the dogs. Unfortunately, the dogs were struck and killed.”
The Bangor Daily News says Travolta and wife Kelly Preston had taken their private jet there, likely to stay at a home they own in Isleboro. The airport is investigating the accident, although it's been confirmed the dogs (breed unknown) were on leashes. We blame Stephen King, because he lives around there and it sounds pretty sensational.
