Johnny Depp close to signing deal for fifth 'Pirates of the Caribbean'
There have been rumors about a fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie since, well, they announced On Stranger Tides, but now it looks promising. That's because Johnny Depp has all but signed a deal to make it, natch. What, you thought they'd bring back Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom?
While no one is confirming anything, TheWrap.com says Depp is negotiating now that Jerry Bruckheimer's planned sequel has a rough script. Improvements are ongoing, and Depp would have to decide if he likes a draft well enough to sign on, but after the fourth installment made $1 billion globally, you gotta figure this is all but done.
Meanwhile, Depp is playing Tonto in Bruckheimer's latest, another movie version of The Lone Ranger, which starts shooting in October. Hmm, you think those two will have anything to talk about?
