Johnny Depp squares off against would-be mugger
Some day we'll find something really negative to write about Johnny Depp to balance out the universe, but since we can only ever find good news about him, how 'bout this story of him staring down a mugger and saving a pal? That'll work.
The 46-year-old actor was recently leaving a recording studio in L.A. with British singer Stephen Jones when they were accosted by a man waving a broken bottle and demanding cash, the U.K.'s Sun reports. Apparently the guy didn't like the idea of Depp recording a guitar solo with Jones' band Babybird.
"It was an extremely scary moment. This guy looked off his head," an obviously British friend told the Sun. "Johnny looked him straight in the eyes and told him to back off."
Perhaps an even better quote is from the paper itself, which called the mugger a "star-struck yob." The guy "looked at Johnny and said, 'I ain't stealing from Captain Jack' and put the bottle down," according to the friend. "Johnny gave him a few bucks and told him to straighten up his life."
See that? Johnny so suave he can force muggers to take his money instead of the other way around. They should make a candy bar for him and call it Rich'N'Smooth -- Now! With More Crime-Fightin' Taste!
