Johnny Depp visits grade school as Capt. Jack Sparrow
We'd really like to start your weekend off right, so we'll turn to Juice* favorite Johnny Depp. Why is he one of our favorites? Because he's willing to go to an English grade school dressed as Capt. Jack Sparrow and bring a ray of sunshine into the kids' otherwise gray little lives, that's why.
After London 9-year-old Beatrice Delap wrote to the movie star that she and her friends at Meridian Primary School "are a bunch of budding young pirates and we were having a bit of trouble mutiny-ing against the teachers," Depp took some time off from shooting Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides at nearby Old Naval College to help the kids. With just 10 minutes' notice to the school, Depp pulled up in full makeup and roamed the halls greeting the children in character. Boy, do we wish we could afford the photos to show you -- check out the Daily Mail link here.
When Capt. Jack finally spied Delap, he set her straight on her planned disobedience: "He gave me a hug and he said, 'Maybe we shouldn't mutiny today 'cause there are police outside monitoring me,'" she said. The only thing that would have made it better is if costar Penelope Cruz had tagged along, savvy?
