Jon Bon Jovi's daughter Stephanie won't be charged in heroin overdose
For the record, Jon Bon Jovi's daughter Stephanie Bongiovi won't be charged for drug possession after overdosing on heroin, so that's one less thing on her plate. There's still that pesky problem of using heroin, though.
Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara told the AP he was dismissing the charges against the 19-year-old and another student, Ian Grant, after Stephanie ended up in the hospital this week when she police found her unresponsive in her dorm room at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. The state has a law that says neither an overdose victim nor those who help them can be charged with having drugs on them, in an attempt to alleviate fears OD victims and their friends may have about prosecution.
The AP notes Stephanie's dad is slated to perform a benefit concer in Times Square on Dec. 5 to help the college's scholarship and arts program. He may want to throw in some cash for the local first responders, too.
