Jon Hamm used to work in the porn industry

rsz_tbd-jonhamm092410.jpgAll you Mad Men freaks are so into actor Jon Hamm, you'll likely faint dead away when we tell you it seems he used to work in the porn industry. Yes, he worked on an actual porn movie. But no, he wasn't on screen.

In an interview with the U.K.'s Guardian, the actor reveals he was a set dresser on precisely one soft-core skin flick back in the late '90s. Hey, he needed the money.

"You gotta move cameras around, and ashtrays; and continuity is apparently an issue," he said. But what saved him? Apparently a call from his girlfriend of more than a decade, Jennifer Westfeld, whom he met when she offered him a role in a play she was putting on in New York called Lipschtick.
 

"I came in after another 12-hour day (on the porn set) to this message on my answer phone, and I was so exhausted and depressed and bone tired that I called her back immediately: 'Yes! I don't care what it is!'" he said. "I borrowed money for a ticket and lived in New York for six weeks on about $300, stayed on a friend's couch, roller-bladed everywhere."

That six-week job, of course, netted him a girlfriend that he's still with, so you could say everything worked out fine. Oh, plus all the acclaim for his acting, too.
