Jon & Kate Plus 8 drama: Brother says they have secret contract, Kate's obsessed with money
When did Jon & Kate Plus 8's Jon and Kate Gosselin become such gossip darlings? When we heard their perfect little life isn't so perfect, natch. And to pile on top of the affair rumors, we hear that their marriage is over. Thanks, Kevin and Jodi Kreider!
Kevin, Kate's brother, tells RadarOnline that "six months ago Kate came to Jon and said, 'Hey, it's over,'" and that fame and fortune is what drove a wedge between them. And hey, guess what? They act differently in real life than they do on the show.
"The show is not reality, and has not been for a long time," Jodi says. "This is a train wreck."
But leave it to print to have more juicy details. Star says the couple had a secret contract that allowed them to cheat on each other, as long as the money was coming in. Problem is, with $3,000-an-hour speaking engagements and two books to promote -- with a third on the way -- Kate wasn't sharing the spoils.
"Jon told me he had to empty his 401K to survive," Kevin dished to the mag. Well, "survive" probably isn't the right word to use there, but whatever.
But don't think Kevin and Jodi are speaking out from their hearts. It's more like revenge for getting booted from the show for season three, since they say Kate didn't want to share the $75,000 the couple apparently get per show.
"Her reasoning for pushing me and Jodi away was because the more people you split it up between, the less there is," Kevin says. Jodi throws in that "it has turned into a huge moneymaking machine ... and the money has become priority number one with Kate."
Hey, how else is she supposed to pay for a divorce lawyer?
