Jonathan Rhys Myers shouted the N-word at airline employees
We weren't a bit surprised that notoriously boozy Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers was banned from flying United Airlines earlier this month; that's just how he rolls. What we did not know was that he had been tossing the dreaded "N-word" around like a beanbag at a cornhole game. That just makes it a whole lot worse.
RadarOnline says that while we all had heard Rhys Meyers was drinking heavily before a flight to L.A. at New York's JFK airport, it wasn't until workers prevented him from boarding the plane that the N-bomb was dropped. The Tudors actor had been drinking plenty of vodka, so it was hard to tell if his insult was directed at a person, or just one of those charming European affectations we hear so much about.
This wasn't the first time the actor has been in trouble at an airport. He was arrested in Dublin in 2007 for drunken behavior and breach of peace -- his charges were later dropped -- and was arrested just last year for attacking the staff at a bar in Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport. It seems to us airports are banning the wrong kinds of liquids through the security checkpoint.
