Jonny Fairplay suing Danny Bonaduce
The L.A. district attorney didn’t see anything wrong with Danny Bonaduce tossing Jonny Fairplay face-first onto the stage, but that isn’t keeping Fairplay from suing.
The AP reports the former Survivor contestant has filed a lawsuit in L.A. Superior Court against Bonaduce and the Fox Reality Channel, claiming he was the victim of battery and emotional distress following the Oct. 2 incident (watch it again below).
Fairplay wants unspecified damages to cover medical expenses, emotional distress and lost earnings, as well as punitive damages, even though the D.A. declined pressing charges. Bonaduce did not intentionally injure Fairplay and his “actions fell within the realm of self-defense,” Deputy District Attorney Jeffrey Boxer wrote last week.
We’re glad to hear that if some strung-out weirdo jumped us on stage and started gyrating like a broken rock tumbler, we’d be justified if we tossed them off us as quickly as possible. Too bad we’d be sued for it, anyway.
