Joseph Gordon-Levitt joins cast of 'Sin City' sequel
Looper star Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been working his way up into A-list territory for years, but now he's doing himself the biggest favor yet and passing on roles in Godzilla and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. He did say yes to a Sin City sequel, though, so he's not completely abandoning his nerd roots.
IndieWire.com says Joe is taking a lead spot in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For as Johnny the gambler in a movie that will also include the 2005 originals' Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson and Jamie King. Dennis Haysbert will replace dearly departed Michael Clarke Duncan and Jamie Chung will take over for Devon Aoki, robbing the new mom of her most notable film credit. Josh Brolin, Clive Owen and Bruce Willis all could be involved, as well.
Not only will it bring back the mind-bending, high-contrast visuals Robert Rodriguez channeled from the Frank Miller comics, but it will also be shot in 3D. We can't understand why Johnny Depp wasn't interested in Gordon-Levitt's role.
