JT gets no props
No matter how much we love Justin Timberlake, it seems he won’t be getting props from his home state of Tennessee. The AP says state Sen. Ophelia Ford had introduced a resolution to honor the singer “for his highly successful music career and for his meritorious service to the State of Tennessee.” But Sen. Raymond Finney, R-Maryville, removed it from a list of resolutions that is expected to get unanimous support in the Senate. “It’s not something I want my name on,” Finney said. Republican senators took issue with calling attention to Timberlake’s latest album, FutureSex/LoveSounds and to such horribly corrupting song titles like SexyBack and Rock Your Body. Maybe Finney was also upset that during his Tampa encore last month Timberlake called himself a boy from “middle-of-nowhere, Tennessee” (he’s from Millington, near Memphis, btw). [Photo: AP]
