Julia Roberts made $1.5 million for 45-second Lavazza coffee commercial
And the rich get richer: Julia Roberts reportedly pocketed about $1.5 million for a 45-second TV spot for Italian coffee maker Lavazza,a nd she didn't even have to say a word. Now that's talent.
The U.K.'s Daily Mail says the commercial -- which features Roberts as the muse to an actor portraying Botticelli, who is trying to paint Spring Allegory but can't get Julia to smile -- will run across Italy through December. Italian entertainers Paolo Bonolis and Luca Laurenti show up, toss some A Modo Mio coffee down her gullet and she's all grins afterward. A wink at the end punctuates the ad, which supposedly got Julia more than $33,000 per second (watch it below)!
We could say something about Juila's reputation for being moody and mean-spiritied, or even how she just wants back the top spot in the highest-paid actress list, but we're going to go with: It's great to live in a world where a coffeee house can pay some 43-year-old actress $1.5 million for a Christmas commercial while people are starving in the streets. Joy to the world!
