Justin Bieber gets a Fisker Karma for his 18th birthday
While cougars the world over are sharpening their claws, Justin Bieber has already gotten a phenomenal present for his 18th birthday: A Fisker Karma, a plug-in hyprid sports car that costs a smidge over $100,000, which he got from his agent when Bieber was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday. Boy, we really need to get tickets to that show.
"You work really really hard," manager Scooter Braun told the Biebs. "I always yell at you, 'Don't get anything flashy!' You know, we're not about that. Be humble, be humble. And I kind of broke my own rule. We wanted to make sure, since you love cars, that when you're on the road you are always environmentally friendly. And we decided to get you a car that would make you stand out … I think you know where I'm going, and you're kind of freaking out right now. That's a Fisker Karma."
Justin obviously was a bit surprised -- "That's for me? That's crazy!" he said -- but what do you expect? The kid makes like $84,000 a minute. Leonardo DiCaprio got the first Karma ever made, people notes, and folks like Al Gore and Colin Powell lined up for one, too, so he obviously is in the company of his peers. The real question is, why couldn't this kid afford one of these when he was 16?
