Justin Timberlake is returning to the music industry (with a movie)
The moment you've all been waiting for is finally here: Justin Timberlake is returning to the music industry! Wait, he's only starring in a movie about a guy from the music industry? Oh, that's freakin' weak.
Slashfilm.com says JT will be starring in Spinning Gold, a biopic of Casablanca Records mogul Neil Bogart. In the '70s, Casablanca published legends like Donna Summer, The Village People, Parliament, and released every Kiss album until Bogart died in 1982, the site says. The label was consumed by Mercury Records the following year.
Timberlake is also producing the movie with Bogart's son Timothy Scott Bogart -- who also wrote the script -- and Evan Bogart. Shooting is slated to begin by the end of 1012, but will be made as an indie with a huge budget, since they'll need to clear music rights for all those powerhouse acts. JT, however, will probably not be singing any of them.
