Justin Timberlake went to the Marines Corps Ball
Justin Timberlake was true to his word, attending the Quantico, Va., Marine Corps Birthday Ball on Saturday with Cpl. Kelsey DeSantis, the Marine who asked him out on YouTube (you know, after JT convinced Mila Kunis to go to a different ball after getting asked out the same way). And wouldn't you know it, he had a blast! Well, not literally, but you see what we're saying.
Timberlake wrote a long post on his website about the evening in Richmond, in which he spent plenty of time shaking hands and taking photos, but he set aside plenty of time for his date.
"She seemed to me to be so humble and honest... Very cool," he wrote. "She also simultaneously seemed like she was nervous about the whole evening and if I was going to enjoy myself. 'Are you ok?' she asked 2 or 3 times. 'I hope you are having fun. I know you will once my crew of friends get here to the table.' I have to tell you, it's not every day that I meet a 23 year old girl and she's more worried about if I'm having fun or if I'm comfortable! It hit me all of a sudden that these were the type of people that look after us and our freedom..."
He detailed how the room watched a video about Pearl Harbor and showed plenty of admiration for DeSantis and her pals, noting how much fun he had with the coporal and her Marine friends. He ended by writing, "Thank you Corporal Kelsey DeSantis. Thank you for inviting me. And, thank you for being my hero."
The only thing we can see the devil dogs taking exception with in his acount is his description of "huahs" being traded. Sorry, JT, that's the army -- leathernecks say "oo-rah." We'll see if Mila can keep up the good PR when she goes to the Greenville, N.C., ball on Friday.
