Kara DioGuardi joins Jewel on Bravo's 'Going Platinum'
American Idol fans would probably want to know that unceremoniously dumped former judge Kara DioGuardi has landed on her feet, getting a job as a judge on a new Bravo reality songwriting show. Remember when that network used to show operas, ballets and symphony performances?
DioGuardi will join host Jewel Kilcher on Going Platinum, a show that follows 12 musicians write ditties for genres ranging from hip-hop to ballads in an effort to win $100,000 and a recording deal, HollyScoop reports. That formula sounds awfully familiar, but it may involve some actual talent.
"Hit songs are the backbone of the music industry, and as a publisher, nothing excites me more than finding new songwriting talent," DioGuardi said in a statement. "I am happy to be a part of a show that helps up and coming songwriters pursue their dreams, while giving the public a look into the creative process."
Of course, this doesn't mention who the other judges may be. We're hoping for Alice Cooper, Kool Moe Dee and Dave Brockie from Gwar, in his Oderus Ungerus suit, natch.
