Kate Winslet not happy with Sam Mendes being close to Rebecca Hall
We heard that Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes are getting a divorce and that it's amicable, but real Juice*heads have been wondering, who's the x factor here? Turns out the other woman may have been 27-year-old actress Rebecca Hall. Wait, we have no reason to hate her -- yet.
Various sources tell the U.K.'s Daily Mail that Mendes and Hall were just friends, but she was still a shoulder to cry on as his marriage to Winslet fell apart (ironically while she was filming Revolutionary Road, about a marriage falling apart).
Mendes and Hall met on the set of her 2006 debut, Starter for 10, which Sam was producing. They worked together last summer when she was cast in two projects for Mendes' productions with the Bridge Project theater company.
"When Kate found out that Sam had grown close to Rebecca she was upset. Rebecca is totally Sam's type -- a thespian mix of brains and beauty," one source said. But a pal of Sam's said that's really not the case: "Sam and Rebecca are good friends, of course they are, they have spent the better part of a year working together on the Bridge Project. But to insinuate that there is anything further in the friendship is taking it too far."
You might remember Rebecca from Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona, or maybe as David Frost's girlfriend in Frost/Nixon. She went to a $50,000 a year private school before going to college in Cambridge and dropping out after two years to be an actress. And land a 44-year-old director/producer boyfriend.
