Katherine Heigl confirms she left 'Grey's Anatomy'
“I am done. We just finalized our agreement," Heigl told the mag exclusively. "Everyone had been working really hard to find an amicable and gracious way of letting go and moving on. It’s sad but it’s what I wanted.”
The 31-year-old actress cited family issues as the reason for the change, and not the wrath of Shonda Rhimes or Heigl's own lazy habits after whining about wanting to focus on her film career: "“I started a family and it changed everything for me,” Heigl says about adopted daughter Naleigh. “It changed my desire to work full-time.”
This means that her Jan. 21 appearance as Izzy Stevens was her last one, even though she was slated to be in the season's last five episodes. Thankfully, we won't have to put up with her or her patient-killing, husband-stealing, camera-mugging antics ever again. Sandra Oh's Cristina Yang will be happy to hear that.
