Katherine Heigl wants to return to 'Grey's Anatomy'
In case you didn't think there were enough actors on Grey's Anatomy, Katherine Heigl has done a 180 and says she'd love to go back on the show, if only creator Shonda Rhimes would have her. Considering how acrimonious her departure was, that's a big if, so she asked to come back.
"I've told them I want to," she told E!. "I don't know... Being a showrunner and being a writer of a TV series like that is so complicated that I mean she's got how many characters are there now? There's a lot and so she's balancing about 40 different storylines, so I don't know if it fits in to their sort of vision for this season or next or however many seasons it goes."
Heigl has been off the show since January 2010, when she had a budding movie career and had just adopted daughter Naleigh, but that's all starting to slow down, so she wants to bring Izzie Stevens back to ABC.
"Yeah totally. I really, really, really want to see where (Izzie) is. I just want to know what happened to her and where she went and what she's doing now. My idea is that she actually like figures it out, and finds some success and does really well in a different hospital. She was always floundering you know, and so she was always one step behind the eight ball and I want to see that girl take some power back."
Fortunately for her, all Rhimes did was have Izzie flake out and leave her husband. Not like poor T.R. Knight, who was kicked off the show and had his character run over by a bus and killed.
