Kathie Lee Gifford allegedly rips parents of drug addicts, gets backlash from fans
In an interview with Family Circle magazine, Kathie Lee Gifford apparently implied that parents of drug addicts were failures. "I'm not a perfect mom, but my kids haven't been arrested, in rehab or kicked out of school, so I must be doing something right!" Some fans then blew that one wee sentence out of proportion and assumed that Gifford meant that moms and dads of drug addicts are deadbeat parents.
A comment on Gifford's Facebook page: "Well Kathy, here is a pic of my little brother who we lost at the age of 33 yrs old due to a DISEASE called DRUG ADDICTION ... I find it funny we were both raised by the same woman called MOM ... I am NOT an ADDICT and NEVER was ... Poor parenting?? Gimme a break."
Another: "Shame on your Kathie Lee Gifford, shame on you. You are a thoughtless human being."
We think this is a bit much. Gifford didn't explicitly say that and we don't think she would intend to hurt anyone's feelings. She was just being a proud momma.
