Katie Holmes may be a miss on Broadway bid

22

August

Katie Holmes may want to make it big on Broadway, but audiences are apparently telling her something different. MSNBC's The Scoop says ticket sales for All My Sons -- also starring John Lithgow, Patrick Wilson and Dianne Wiest -- are "definitely off from what the production hoped," according to a source.

Tbdkatieholmes082508 "You can’t say it’s the economy, because there are shows like Mamma Mia that are selling out," the source says. But maybe they want more Dawson's Creek and less depressing WWII-era tale. "It’s not that Katie’s bad in the part. She’s good enough. The producers are just getting the feeling people still want to view Katie as sweet little Joey Potter."

But being MSNBC, a source willing to be named says this is all a load of tripe. Show publicist Jackie Green says, "That information is totally false. There is a healthy advance for the show, and there is no chance of the run being shortened." Of course, she has a vested interest in making it sound like the show will be able to cash in come Oct. 16, so who should we believe?
