Katy Perry turns down $20 million 'American Idol' contract
In an attempt to get back on top, American Idol is actually trying to get judges that aren't on Hollywood's D List. They tried to get Katy Perry, who reportedly turned down a one-year $20 million contract for next season, TMZ reports. Idol tried to convince Perry for weeks -- they started the offer at $18 million and worked up to $20 million.
According to the site, Perry said it wasn't about the money. She just wasn't interested in the gig and didn't think it was a good career choice. Agreeing to judge Idol means you're a burnout desperate for attention (coughMariahCareycough), so we're backing Perry on this one. Besides, who needs $20 million anyway?
