Katy Perry's Sesame Street skit yanked over cleavage complaints
Katy Perry's visit with Elmo on Sesame Street has been yanked by PBS after parents complained about the singer's low-cut dress, as seen in a clip leaked to YouTube this week. Hey, it's not like she was tickling Elmo in an inappropriate place or something.
The skit, in which Perry wears a pretty typical Katy Perry dress and alters the lyrics to Hot N Cold while attempting to play dress-up with the puppet, is pretty harmless in and of itself (it's actually covering her with some flesh-colored mesh), but it does show some trademark Katy Perry wiggle, which didn't sit well with plenty of parents who want to shield their children from the pop stars the kids will listen to since they can't watch Sesame Street.
"In light of the feedback we’ve received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on You Tube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of Sesame Street, which is aimed at preschoolers," a spokesperson told Us in a statement. "Katy Perry fans will still be able to view the video on You Tube."
But you can watch the video above, because that's what The Juice* does for you, although we have to wonder how that dress is worse than Ariel in The Little Mermaid. Who knew a woman who sang about lesbian kisses and wearing short-shorts would cause such a problem?
