Ke$ha is desperate, sings at teenage girl's birthday party
Tik-Tok singer and Simpsons opening credits composer Ke$ha is ticking off her 13th minute as you read this, since she was playing for a pack of teenage girls at a New York restaurant over the weekend. Bowling alleys and wedding receptions, here she comes!
The New York Post says the princess of autotune was paid $50,000 to sing two songs for a supposed Sweet 16 party at Cipriani 42nd Street Saturday. A source says the girls at the party freaked when the announcement was made.
"Everyone flips. Then Ke$ha wishes the girl a happy Sweet 16, and people clap, but with puzzled looks on their faces," the source says. "It's not her Sweet 16. It's her bat mitzvah."
That's right, Ke$ha appeared at a party to sing to a bunch of 13-year-olds. Apparently she didn't know it at the time and was tricked, otherwise she probably wouldn't have accepted, the paper says. But really, singing for 16-year-olds is much more acceptable? You might as well sing at a high school prom.
