Ke$ha's 'Die Young' being yanked off radio after Newtown massacre

18

December

You may not have heard about this, because she hasn't complained one bit about it, but Ke$ha's latest single Die Young has been pulled from radio stations around the country after the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The reason why should be pretty obvious.

TMZ says the song checked in at No. 3 on radio playlists on Dec. 14, the same day of the shooting, but dropped by 19 million listeners by Monday, according to tracking firm Mediabase, pointing to a decrease in its airplay (watch the video above). Some industry source says such a dramatic drop rarely happens; The last time was when the Dixie Chicks insulted President George W. Bush in March 2003 over his invasion of Iraq.

As you know, The Juice* tries very hard to avoid Top 40 radio in general, and Ke$ha in particular, so please let us know if Tampa Bay radio is following this trend. When you think about it, a song glorifying untimely death is probably not the best idea in the first place.
